Welcome!
My name is Timothy Henry and I am currently a doctoral degree candidate in the linguistics department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I specialize in studying Xalxa Mongolian, Ventureno Chumash, and Old and Middle English.
My fields of research focus on historical semantics, ATR phonation, consonant diminutization, demonstratives and articles, and nominalization. Other linguistic interests include the typology of polysynthetic languages, California areal linguistics, clause combining strategies, and applicatives.
In my spare time I enjoy classifying local flora, perfecting orthographies, and swimming. I enjoy learning about new kinship systems and, in general, have a keen interest in the many ways that the human mind classifies and organizes the world.
